This remake captures these features perfectly, giving you a taster into one of the most exciting aviation developments in recent times.
This package comes with a wide range of extras and additions, including some excellently worked and diversely managed texture packages. These four new unique texture sets that have been included in this package follow some of the most famous patterns for this aircraft. Some realistic textures are included as well as some new textures created by the design team behind the project, Victavia.
This makes it much easier to buy into the vision and the idea of the aircraft, as you'll be able to fly in famous liveries such as;
- All-gray Marines
- Gray-green camo Marines
- Fictional Winter camo Marines
- Fictional Japanese civil scheme
This Virtavia package makes the most of some truly stunning design features on the model, that really manage to put the whole together as one. This model has been designed using FSX as its native system, ensuring that things like bump mapping, self-shadowing, bloom texturing etc. are all included in the most realistic detail possible. When put together, this all looks incredibly authentic and captures the look and feel of the real thing perfectly
An authentic virtual cockpit has been put together that ensures the whole aircraft flies and operates in the way that it was supposed to in the first place. It also has various animated features included for extra creativity, and a range of mousable controls that you can access
The virtual cockpit is also fitted out with a brilliant multi-functional display system, as well as a Moving Map, that helps you stay on track and never lose your bearings. This extra solution will also make it much easier for you to become a better pilot as your navigation skills will improve through regular usage
Stunning flight dynamics have been added in to match the aircraft in terms of realism for the design. This package, when working in tandem, looks truly outstanding managing to really capture the look and feel of the real thing perfectly. The low-speed hover with vertical rotors is also possible when flying this aircraft, which may be a bit of a new feature for some who have never spent much time in aircraft like this previously
A full range of animations for the tilt-rots have been included alongside props which can be spotted from the view in the virtual cockpit. This naturally adds another nice little layer of realism to the whole thing and makes it look that little bit better than it did before this
One of the most important parts of any good flight simulation program is that it will realistically mimic the way that the aircraft takes off. In this package, you will get just that as unique flight dynamics will allow for a normal flight as the rotors are tilted incrementally forward. This gives you a different perspective on how flight works when you are flying something like this. These awesome transitions ensure your flights are easy
An awesome turbo-prop system has been added to create some truly awesome sounds. These blast out of the aircraft like a boombox, making it nice and easy for you to hear the real sound and volume of an aircraft like this. The package captures all of this perfectly with intense detail and hours worth of editing and optimizing every little sound possible for true realism
Additionally, animated tilt-rotors with a flaps function being used has been added in. this looks brilliant and makes it really easy to see how flying this aircraft would have been possible thanks to the realism in the animations being used
A checklist is added into the cockpit so that you can easily see what you are doing, or what you should not be doing, at any point during the flight. This will make it much easier to get to grips with the flight style of the Osprey as well as make sure you can trust its overall dynamics in the air
It comes with virtual cockpit rain effects added, too. However, these are a feature made exclusive to FS9 at the time this was prepared
A rear holding area has been included with intricate realism, ensuring that it manages to capture and maintain the high standards that were set elsewhere
The rear viewpoint has been included with a simple arrow key press. This lets you see the aircraft from a different viewpoint than usual
2D panels are included with an MFD-style gauge, giving you total control over the aircraft and making sure that you can easily get to grips with ho this flies and also to make sure the cockpit feels as detailed and as full as it possibly can
Animated crew entry locations that make it easy for you to see when staff are getting in and out of the aircraft. Other new animations in the form of animated opening rear hatches with ramps and struts are included
2 realistic crew members are made up, also, who will stand with you alongside the aircraft and make sure that it feels nice and alive. This makes it much easier for you to get to grips with the scenario and make it feel truly realistic
Three additional AI models are included that you will see elsewhere to ensure that you can see this aircraft in action elsewhere without taking up the same level of system resources as it flies around
Working landing lights to make flying in the early hours easier
Founded in 1999 by Phil Perrott and originally named Alphasim who developed freeware aircraft for FS2004/FSX. Now rebranded as Virtavia who now publish payware add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D based on the old heavily modified Alphasim stock.
Virtavia has a focus on military aircraft add-ons compatible with FSX, Prepar3D, and X-Plane. Focusing on historic and modern military aircraft, their add-ons have been well received by flight sim pilots and rated highly.
SimShack stock the entire range of Virtavia add-ons and continue to list any new versions or releases announced by Virtavia.

Didn't work for my CD installed copy of MFSX. Tried installing it & uninstalling it as well as repairing it numerous times with both versions(original & updated) & I still cant seem to get it installed to the game. I cant seem to find the aircraft in the aircraft selection even though I installed it in the correct directory. I feel ripped off now. These people need to get their shit together & fix their addon download system so we can properly install these addons that we PAY for. I also really don't want to be forced to download a Steam version of MFSX if my CD installed version works just fine just to get this addon to work. This was intended to be an addon for MFSX/2004 regardless of whether it is CD installed or Steam.

This aircraft has a few problems. No HUD for one, no way I can see in FS9 to add weight, as in people. Harder to land than the real one, or the older free version I still have. All that said, this looks nice, and the panel is very usable. I expected more.
