As one of the most popular aircraft of its era, the B-1 Lancer holds a special place in the hearts of many virtual pilots. However, part of what makes it such a celebrated aircraft is the fact it has been used by so many different aviation firms. This is why, in a bid to capture that versatility, this B-1 Lancer DLC package for FSX and P3D will build on the original Virtavia model and add even more attention to detail than beforehand.
The Rockwell B-1 Lancer first came to the skies in 1974, and since then it has become a major part of the aviation industry. The supersonic nature of the aircraft made it perfect for heavy bombing missions and intensive bombing runs carried out by the US Air Force.
Indeed, as of 2018, it serves as one of three commonly used strategic bombers in the US arsenal including the B-2 Spirit and the B-52 Stratofortress. Now, you can get even more attention to detail for this famous aircraft with the addition of fresh new livery designs.
Please note that you must own the base model of the Virtavia B-1 Lancer. If you do not own this, you must install the base package first. This then overwrites file for the base model; otherwise, this package is unusable.
A new and improved take on the aircraft has been included, with a whole host of new add-on liveries, seven in total. Each livery is based on a real version of the aircraft and helps you to fly popular takes on the B-1 Lancer yourself. However, you also get new model variations of the Lancer, with three new adjusted models included. This helps you to get even more use out of your Lancer, and make sure you fly the appropriate model for the correct flight.
The new liveries included are:
- 28th BMS(H), 384th BMW(H), McConnell AFB
- 46th BMS(H), 319th BMW(H), Grand Forks AFB
- 37th BMS(H), 28th BMW(H), Ellsworth AFB
- 128th BS, 116th BW, Robins AFB
- 34th BS, 366th BW, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho
- 77th BS, 28th BW, Ellsworth AFB
