As an aircraft with a litany of redeeming features, the Fairchild PT-26 is an aircraft with an immense amount of style and class about it.
This was a primary monoplane training aircraft which gathered a large reputation during the Second World War as the perfect place to learn your trade and your craft. A contemporary of the Kaydet bi-plane trainer system, this was regularly used by the USAF during Primary Flight Training. From that time on, the aircraft was used to help pilots learn their trade before moving onto something more advanced in the future.
For simulation fans, though, this provides more than an ample challenge to your enjoyment and fun when flying! It’s a classy design that really does promote the strongest elements of old-school flight simulation, helping you get to grips with an old-school means of flying.
If you have had any desires to fly an old-school aircraft such as this, then we recommend that you take a look at the features included here. As part of the FlySimWare releases, this gives you access to a new take on the PT-26 that you can use both online and offline. For a breath of fresh air that really does promote the strongest elements of classic flight, try this out.
By making use of awesome 3D gauges that more than look the part, this module makes it nice and simple for pilots to learn their trade and enjoy themselves truly moving forward. With this monoplane aircraft you will need to know what you’re doing, an accurate gauges will certainly help you with that!
The HD textures come with 3D bump mapping effects, world reflections and specular effects. It’s a major benefit of moving forward with your flight style that these textures will really help you settle into the flight style, such is the sheer realism that it provides.
Another major factor of flying this kind of aircraft module is the introduction of new self-shadowing effects that are used throughout the interior model. This helps to add another layer of much needed realism to the interior of the craft, making it even more appealing to sit in for hours on end!
A set of bones animation designs are included which do a great job for selling the aircraft’ overall presentation. Instead of being a bunch of separate features all going on at once and looking disjointed, this does a perfect job of introducing it all together as one object.
Customized sound sets work together in tandem to produce an attractive and engaging new system built for long-term development and change. Custom sound sets help to also make you aware of what is going right – and wrong – with your flight, ensuring you stay on track for hours when flying.
Over stress sounds are also added in there to make you aware of when you might be pushing the boundaries a little bit too much! This really will make a massive difference to your overall enjoyment of your flight process, helping you understand when you might be pushing your luck.
GTX330 transponders are a perfect form of design and are a key element in moving forward through a professional flight, and this model works perfectly in tandem with one of these. If you are looking for an effective way to manage your aircraft with the proper equipment, you’ll need this.
FlySimWare makes use of their own traditional virtual cockpit sounds which add more than ten bonus sounds along the way. The perfect solution for everyone is making sure that you know what each sounds correlates to, which this modifications makes easier than ever to follow along with and understand intuitively.
Uses the Hobbs engine hour gauge for extra authenticity and also helping you control the aircraft with more authority than you would have in the past.
Also uses a working custom wobble pump; a nice little feature that many FSX add-ons may never include due to the complexity of its inclusion.
XML coding has been taken care of from scratch with this mod, taking care of the various gauges and animations to ensure they not only appear smoothly but work in the right format and style. Performance limitations and issues have been removed from the package thanks to smart coding.
High quality pilots are included with a self-animated range of head movements, making the entire aircraft feel more alive and significantly adding to the atmosphere within the cockpit.
Bones animated pilots mean that throttle and stick control all operate as one, giving you a much clearer take from within the cockpit itself.
Several aircraft modes are included alongside four paint themes – each of these have been designed to give you a truly enjoyable look and feel.
High quality, four stage propeller and proper effects are included to help you understand the position your aircraft is in as well as how the propellers themselves work.
One of the most redeeming factors about this being introduced is the inclusion of the brilliant variations of the aircraft itself. You have access to four unique paint themes that do a great job of selling the aircrafts style, including;
- United States - Civilian model (restored)
- United States - US Army Air Corps (restored)
- Canada - Royal Canadian Air Force (restored)
- Norway - Royal Norwegian Air Force (restored)
