With the help of the excellent Just flight, though, the possibilities of what you will be flying and what you will be doing changes entirely. Many new aircraft are available through various flight packages released for FSX, and this Constellation Professional package gives you all the help that you might need.

Three unique aircraft provided in this package with eleven different liveries in total, giving you many unique looks and designs to put into place when flying your aircraft. The C-69 Military Transport Prototype, as well as the C-69/L-049A aircraft are included in this package alongside the -049A First Production Type model. This gives you plenty of control over the aircraft that you will be flying, as well as various Lockheed, TWA, BAC, AOA and PAN AM flight liveries designed to stunning detail and attention to realism

Complete Flight Engineer’s station, radio station and co-pilot systems are included that come equipped with all the right working gauges and unique animations designed from scratch. Watch each operation burst into life when you are trying to get the aircraft up and running, using each sector of the aircraft to really get the full control and power that you need
Graphics have been updates to use HD textures and also to work completely with DX10. Not only does this improve the overall quality and design style within the package, but it makes the overall performance even better. New shadow effects have been included to give you a realistic looking aircraft that changes with the weather and ensures that the textures always look as close to the real thing as they possibly can

New animations designed from scratch, too, ensuring that the aircraft flies just as it would in real life. Everything from the flaps to the undercarriage have been totally remade to represent the real thing and show you the right style and quality needed – even the extending ground boarding stairs truck comes into play and makes everything feel far more alive than the vanilla FSX models

Extra touches have been added to include animated passengers and stewardesses, as well as windows that work properly, giving you a chance to see into the aircraft from the side-view

Pro Paint pack has been included to give you a chance to make easy registration marks and placement and alignment of textures, making the editing easier than it has ever been used before. Please note that all files require Photoshop or similar software to properly manipulate, so if you do intend on making your own liveries please make sure you have the right editing equipment

Classic bird, and enjoyable to fly. As i expected when i purchased the Connie, you have no navigation for flying airways. Your only tools for autopilot are pitch control, which requires tuning every so often to maintain flight level and airspeed, and heading. I have done two flights, kden to panc, panc to uhpp, and i followed vor and adf while enroute. There were no problems following the flight plan using the radios, however there is no switch between nav radio 1 and 2 so you can only follow a vor on nav radio 1. Slightly annoying but not detrimental to my experience. The only major issue i had was inconsistent fuel burn between the right and left tanks. I picked it up about halfway through my first flight, and i anticipated it being due to a strong crosswind but that was not the case as i had the problem going into a headwind on leg 2. The part of the inconsistent fuel burn that i consider detrimental, and thusly losing a star for, was there was no way to remedy the problem with something as simple as a cross feed valve. I do not know if the Connie had one or not, but it seems like a simple thing to have. I fixed the problem by using the fuel window native to fsx, adding the fuel between the troublesome tanks and dividing by two to balance the plane. Personally i would much rather not do something like that, and instead depend on what is available to me in the aircraft. Additionally the fact that you have to purchase added skins is a big draw back but not one that loses a star as i knew that would be the case. Overall it is a faithful recreation of an iconic and beautiful aircraft, with minor flaws, but no deal breakers. Worth the price, but research the skins before you buy them so you can find the ones you want. I definitely recommend you brush up on your radio flying, and hand flying an ils approach in near zero visibility. It's fun and rewarding to land an old school aircraft in low overcast conditions after hand flying your approach.
