Its unique nature and its powerful, excessively strong features make it a popular choice for anyone who wants to fly a helicopter which is more or less a brute in military strength but does not have to try and compensate for a lack of finesse or control elsewhere. Indeed, the Apache is a nimble piece of work that can be easily controlled and with this Virtavia mod, this is all made clearer than ever.
With a huge amount of work put into recreating the 1972 Apache, this modification does everything it can to capture and improve the overall control and style of the aircraft.
Its plans are laid out for a fresh, new design following the failure of its predecessor, the AH-56 Cheyenne.
This was created and thus a new range of helicopter and military equipment was born, forming a new design and a new dream that has been realized time and time again. Even at the time of writing the Apache is still loved by pilots and fans alike, giving various military forces around the world access to something truly devastating.
Now, you can get access to this model yourself thanks to this change. Known for its rugged standards and its amazing performance on the battlefield, this modification is a true reflection of the power - and agility - of the Apache in all of its glory. If you have always wanted to see what one would be like to fly then this package is one of the closest renditions that you are likely to find for a flight simulator today thanks to the incredible work put into capturing its features.
In this package you get access to a fine selection of new features and additions that make sure the real thing will fly at the levels you would have been hoping for, thanks to the improvement and the changes made across the model which includes features like;
A fantastic model which has been rendered on the real thing, giving all fans of the aircraft something truly exemplary to fall back on. The work carried out on the model makes sure that the whole thing works in the way that it was supposed to, with very minor feature addressed.
This is no more obvious than when you look at the virtual cockpit. The virtual cockpit has undergone a massive facelift so that it can truly and accurately represent the real thing, making it easier than ever to get a first-hand glimpse at the cockpit that sits inside an Apache.
An amazing model is used as the basis for this feature, but it's improved further by the usage of FSX features such as bump mapping, self-shadowing and bloom FX to make sure the whole thing can carry that true feel and style. If you want to have a glamorous model that does the job it was asked of, this is the place to start!
A new set of custom made and fully animated stabilator animations are included which look excellent. Indeed, this is set to work and move in accordance to the overall speed that the aircraft is flying at.
A new soundset was made from scratch using the real audio to carry along with the program and make it easier than ever before to capture the authenticity of the aircraft. With everything included for each model, this now sounds just like the real Apache which makes flying more authentic.
Take full control of your aircraft with the help of the new - fully animated - virtual cockpit. This makes a huge difference to your overall flight control but also - more importantly - ensures that you will have no issues with using the aircrafts various features with every switch being made fully mousable.
A massive range of new features are included with the virtual cockpit, included access to the Forward Gunners' station. This makes a massive difference and makes it easier than ever to work at the level it was asked to be, giving you access to something which was a fresh feature.
Make sure that you never miss a beat with the help of the Moving Map screen features on the virtual cockpit. This helps you see what is going on around you and also ensures that you are unlikely to ever lose your boundaries, making it much simpler to command this.
Highly authentic crew figures stand around the Apache with you, making sure that you have access to an aircraft that truly represents more than just the model itself. This massively improves the overall performance, making your life much simpler and helping the whole feeling and atmosphere of the aircraft feel authentic.
Animated TADS and chin cun add-ons are included which also do a great job of helping to set the tone inside the cockpit, bringing the whole thing together in the most splendid fashion possible.
Virtual cockpit rain effects are added in for anyone who is using this mod with FS9, adding another little layer of realism to the aircraft. If you want to learn what it would be like to try and navigate something like an Apache aircraft in the rain then this mod can be what you need, adding that much needed layer of realism to the flight.
Animated suspension, crew doors, tail control surfaces and tail wheels are added in all of which look truly outstanding and make it easier than ever to control the aircraft to the standards that you would have been hoping for.
Various other features are included, such as crew figures who are toggled by pressing Shift+E+2 on your keyboard.

The Apache is one of the all-time classic helicopter models and I just wanted to try it out for once in a simulator instead of a game. I only use FS2004 so probably never got the full power out of this but it feels amazing. The depth and quality of the aircraft itself is brilliant, and it makes me feel really at home even after only about three week of usage. It feels great, though, as I've got used to the format and the style of this kind of chopper and I've also got to they enjoy the brilliant way they have put the design together.
The whole aircraft moves as one and feels really special in that each animation is separate yet all work in tandem so it looks perfect, whilst giving me a total understanding of what it must be like to see something like this take off in the first place. Just the sheer power and noise it makes when flying is amazing and makes it a whole lot easier for someone to get used to flying around with, especially someone like myself who has next to no military simulation experience so it was a lot of fun to fly even for a newbie.
However the brilliant detail of pieces like the gunners station was what really ticked all the boxes for me. Would happily recommend this to any FS fan who loves military equipment as Virtavia really done a great job on making this look authentic.
