In this remake of the brilliant Piper Arrow for both FS2004 and FSX, you’ll have access to a totally free model that carries all of the real-life hallmarks of the real thing. This is something that is small, simple to fly and easy to navigate with thanks to its small nature and the fact it can get you through even the most trouble and challenging of gaps!
The whole thing feels very safe to fly around in and this is thanks to the massively creative work carries out to CLS; they’ve created a brilliant remake of this aircraft that really hits home at just how effective it was for its time. Whilst it might not be quite as popular today as an aircraft, the package comes with various additions to help you remember it for years to come. Faithful to the real thing and with a fine addition of liveries and extra features to make the model and cockpit look as realistic as possible, this does everything it can to really make this edition of the Arrow feel like home.
This comes with some very impressively designed 3D models, all capable of giving you the boost and the range of detail needed to really capture the true glories of this aircraft. It will also give you the perfect taster of what this aircraft is capable of in terms of looks, carrying off that classic seaplane style with some genuine style
Shine and design is very important in any model, and this does a great job of capturing that importance with the addition of a dynamic sine effect. This means that the aircraft looks spectacular, whilst managing to carry off a realistic look that really does the aircraft plenty of justice
Not satisfied with the level of detail that is on offer at the moment? Then look to the brilliant liveries that have been created! Each livery has been made from a real-life model and carries the hallmarks of the real thing, ensuring that it works exactly as you would have hope and also making sure that it captures the detail and form of each model as best as it can
The aircraft is more than just looks, though! This remake of the Piper Arrow does a marvelous job of capturing the virtual cockpit in all of its glory, as well. The addition of a 3D virtual cockpit, complete with full functionality, should make managing and using this aircraft much easier
Struggling to get to grips with the cockpit? Then you should look to the brilliant control surfaces inside. Each part of the surface has been fully animated and made to work and move the way that you would expect and would have hoped for, bringing the whole thing to life and making it really look the part throughout the aircraft
The standard animations that you would expect and hope to see in a package like this have been added, making it a whole lot easier to control and understand the aircraft as well as to understand what actions you carry out will provide what specific response as you move forward
Looking for a bit more from the design side of things? Then you’ll love the addition of the opening door, which really adds to the cool factor of the aircraft and also will make the whole thing seem that extra layer more realistic, which is always a very useful trait!
Flight dynamics have been built upon many hours of looking around, research, planning and interviews to make sure that this feels just as it should, nothing is more important when flying an aircraft model in a simulator then ensuring that it is as close to the real thing as it can be, and this model does that perfectly by really capturing the strength and the precision of the real thing along the way
4 excellent panel styles have been made to give you a fine cosmetic choice as much as a choice of what will suit you most effectively; the choices that you can pick from will include black, blue, brow and silver/grey. Each of these look excellent and really capture the look and feel of the aircrafts cockpit, making it much easier to see what you are doing and what options are open to you
Matching virtual cockpit colors to the panels that you have chosen above, ensuring that the aircraft carries that very specific form of unity throughout in terms of the color scheme and the overall look and format of the aircraft
Paint kits look easy to use and if you have Photoshop you can easily start to work with these multi-layered designs to create a look and feel of the livery that you want. If you want to make adjustments or even try and create your own fictional airline you should try and mess around with the paint kid that has been included in here!
Likewise, the operational manual and the panel description included will ensure that you have more than enough information to go on when you fly. When you refer to these details you should have no problem in working out what you need to do or what specific options within the cockpit may result in happening! This makes it easier to fly the aircraft as ever action will now have a clearly explained consequence
Needed System Requirements
- To use this package, you will need to have AT LEAST Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 installed. However, this runs most impressively in FSX but will only run when managed in the FSX Acceleration mode, as well as in DX9 mode – there is no DX10 support with this module
- A copy of Windows XP or Vista – more modern operating systems are untested, but may require changes to Compatibility Settings to ensure that they work properly
- At least 512MB RAM, 1GB+ recommended in all FSX scenarios!
- At least 128MB 3D graphics card, but preferably anything above 256MB
- A plug-in soundcard like a Soundblaster Audigy, as well
- At least 350MB free HD space is needed when you want to install this file, and this does not include the addition of the fil itself being downloaded to HDD

Commercial Level Simulations have graciously released this brilliant little Piper Arrow as add-on for Microsoft's Flight Simulator X and 2004 and best of all, it is completely free. If you have been spending time in larger aircraft, such as Airbus or Boeing passenger jets, and fancy taking to the skies in something a bit more nimble then a light, single prop aircraft like the Arrow is a great choice.
With your free package you get a very nice and highly detailed model of the Arrow, that looks great from all angles when showing off its carefully sculpted curves. All the usual animations are present and accounted for, including control surfaces, landing gear and even opening doors. A beautiful dynamic shine makes the Arrow appear really quite striking at certain angles, making it easy to spend a lot of time using external viewpoints and just admiring the aircraft.
A generous eight liveries are also included, each separated by different colors and designs. Nothing too outlandish, but all simple and tasteful. Along the same line, the aircrafts panel also comes in four different colors, something you don't see very often, that allows you to pick one that best matches the repaint your using, or you might just prefer one over the others. It's not often we get the chance to create such synergy with the inside and outside of the aircraft.
From inside the 3D virtual cockpit, is perhaps where you will best experience the carefully tuned flight dynamics. They are based on real world pilot input and as such, they feel authentic and the Arrow flies very much like its real world counterpart. As not everyone will be familiar with flying a single-engine prop, a full operation manual is included to help get rookie pilots off the ground and back down safely.
By releasing this super add-on that's missing nothing but the price tag, CLS have put themselves in a strong position where everyone can experience and enjoy the kind of products they are capable of creating. Maybe you'll remember that the next time you're in the market for a new aircraft but in the meantime, enjoy your new Piper Arrow, and a big thanks go to CLS.

The interior and instruments are excellent. I exterior is OK. The problem that I have with it was it doesn't not fly like a Cherokee Arrow at all. Not even close. Control are very sluggish and speed are not equal to what the real plane has to offer. I have lots of hours in the real Cherokee Arrow and this plane is nothing like it the real thing. If the owners would re-work the flight characteristics I could give it a Excellent (good) rating. I know it was one of the free planes but not good advertisement for the site and the planes they sell.

Good for Student Pilot to advanced practice from Cessna 152 to heavier Piper Arrow. But still "too light to" fly. Figures for pilot and passengers need to fix to be more realistic

Downloaded CLS Piper Arrow for FSX......When running FSX colour variations/textures do not display??? Aircraft and panel are all white? Is there fix?
Leifur Magnusson III - 04/04/2015
Had to run installer to default old FSX location and copy/paste over to Steam to get it in.. I like the details and functionality of the plane.
Robert Lovering - 08/02/2011
Nice plane, but were's the transponder? The old fixed cards are nice too. Although they seem to over work the pilot.
Ondrej Vesely - 06/20/2013
This plane is fantastic. No existing support page and password for instaling - I dont understand...
AVari Setyadana - 01/20/2015
Very realistic Virtualcool Fokker F 50, except for her airspeed with maximum speed 120 knots
David Burns - 04/19/2011
When loaded in FS9 the instruments do not show. Does anyone have any suggestions?
All41 Adonis - 07/14/2015
They forgot to include the transponder...what a pity for a very nice model.
