As an aircraft of immense importance for military purposes, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress quickly set the tone for military-based aviation for years to come. This four-engine, propeller-driven heavy bomber soon changes the way that aircraft was developed, introducing over $3bn of changes and quickly becoming the most expensive weapons project of the Second World War.
While most famously known for helping to deliver nuclear attacks on Japanese soil in 1945, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress also served with distinction across various other parts of the war effort. It first took to the skies in 1942 and was a regular fixture until its retirement in the 1960s. During the period from the Second World War until its retirement, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress served many roles in the likes of Korean War, playing a key role in US operations across various theatres of war.
It was also used by the likes of Royal Air Force, cementing its place as a major part of modern aviation history.
For anyone who owns the Virtavia Boeing B-29 Superfortress, you’ll know just how close to the real thing it is. More importantly, though, you will find that this add-on delivers a very impressive level of visual detail. If you would like to get even more from the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, though, this DLC package by Virtavia will make sure you can get just that.
With this add-on, you get to add some important new extras. These will go some way to making sure that you can easily adjust and improve upon the original Virtavia package whilst improving the overall scale of options you have to pick from.
Please note that you must own the base model of the Virtavia Boeing B-29 Superfortress. If you do not own this, you must install the base package first. This then overwrites file for the base model; otherwise, this package is unusable.
As part of this release, users will get many add-ons to further improve upon the old Boeing B-29 Superfortress release. This introduces two impressive new models, one based on the Korean War era and one based on the Enola Gay. Each model carries all of the hallmarks of the original, setting it out as an absolute must-have for those who enjoy roleplay and/or era-specific aircraft.
You also get access to seven new liveries, with each new one being based upon a Boeing B-29 Superfortress real-life use. This also includes two new liveries, both based on the Korean War.
