Once again Carenado puts their best foot forward and does what they do best, release stunning models of aircraft for the worlds most popular Flight Simulators, this time with the Cessna C185F Skywagon for X-Plane. This model can be used with versions of X-Plane 9.6 and higher, and is now 64-bit compatible.
The polygon optimized model is the high standard the we love Carenado for and it's completely frame rate friendly so you won't need to sacrifice anything to keep your high frame rates. The exterior of the aircraft is painted in your choice of four unique liveries with realistic textures to give you the best level of detail available. This level of detail extends to the interior of the aircraft, where special attention has been given to making sure everything looks authentic, from the floor mats to the seat texture.
At night, the cabin takes on a completely different vibe as the moody interior lighting makes the whole place seem small and cosy, but at the same time makes the world through the windows feel so much bigger. The instrument panel in the virtual cockpit takes on a gloomy red glow so that small details retain their visibility in the dark, and both the instrument lights and the dome light have separate switches so you can decide whether you need the rest of the cabin lit or not. Here, in the virtual cockpit, you will also find the included 300A Navomatic Autopilot and the ability to toggle yoke.
Improved animated sections and moving parts can be found throughout the model, and all do their part to bring the C185F Skywagon to life, while smaller details provide plenty of extra eye candy, like wheel chocks and tie-down covers. Carenado know that little details can go a long way.
Accurately reproduced flight characteristics, paired with realistic weight and balance, ensure that the feel and charm of the original aircraft is simulated perfectly in your Flight Simulator. High quality sounds were recorded straight from the real 300hp six-cylinder engine for use with this model, and the sound set translates very well to the simulator environment. pull out all the stops with this stunning Cessna Skywagon package for X-Plane. Carenado is a household name in the flight sim industry. If you're bought flight sim payware add-ons before, you've likely heard of Carenado. Founded in 2001 by Fernando Herrera, Carenado has covered aircraft add-ons for FS98 right up to the brand new MSFS release of 2020. Carenado is based in Santiago, Chile, and has a team of developers, designers, and 3D modelers.
Known for the prop and turboprop models that they are famous for and have focused on, they also have small business jets in their add-on portfolio too. They have even developed a model for the Dassault Falcon 50EX - likely their largest.
They have received numerous awards and accolations in the flight sim community over the years. Their support team are always on-hand and responses are always answered in timely manner.

Love the plane. The animated head in the cockpit is a pain. The default view puts your view from inside his head, dumb. I renamed the two "pilot" files in the objects folders. During start-up you get an error saying it can't find the file, but the annoying head is gone, and the plane works fine.
