The models and textures of the airport have been put together using multiple real-world photographs, with optimal modeling and texturing techniques making the airport and the area around it really come to life. The static aircraft also achieves this, scattered randomly around the airport facility.
The realistic and dynamic night lighting also adds a further element of realism and authenticity, as do the seasonal changes, which include 3D snow in winter, for example. This is also the case with the custom approach and runway lights, including the lead-in light for runway 20 (RWY29).
Perhaps the experience of the mountainous terrain as the pilot approaches the airport, though, is reason enough to explore this remote but beautiful location.
