About The Aircraft
During the Second World War, we witnessed many new aircraft enter the history books – some were resounding successes, other were absolute disasters. In the case of the Heinkel He 219, however, it’s safe to say that it comes out of the war with a stunning report card. Even today the Heinkel could still do a more than serviceable job, and served as a solid night fighter – working as a stationary fire platform to keep outposts well-guarded from air strikes. One of the big pluses about the Heinkel besides its power was the immense visibility that the pilot was afforded. Because of the high glass cockpit that was like a bubble, the pilot could see every direction with absolute clarity, allowing for accurate fire and defensive stability.
Additionally, the cockpit also had ejection seats for quick getaways should the aircraft become too damaged, and the layout of the cockpit made defending with the Heinkel extremely easy. Controls were easy to tell apart, which made the power of the Heinkel even more impressive – it could be operated by just about anybody! Its easy flight instructions made it a powerful mobile firing base, and provided a stability that even modern planes would purr over. It was at first a slight adaption of the Daimler-Benz DB 603A, but it provided a more stable platform in the sky and could climb to higher heights at a quicker speed. Additionally, its engines gave a far greater thrust, allowing it to cover larger spaces of ground than the 603A.
The Heinkel brought a huge amount of firepower to the skies, providing a massive gun platform that could hold as much as eight cannons, as well as a gun that was created specifically for wiping out enemy bombers. It could also have as many as six cannons at the front, providing a truly powerful fire base for any position that needed aerial support. Within range, few aircraft would be able to withstand the sheer firepower provided by the Heinkel. As one of the first war aircraft to utilize radar as well, this was a truly special aircraft for the time and at one point appeared to have shifted the tide of the war entirely on its own!
It was faster than a traditional Allied bomber despite its immense size and power, and acted as the vanguard of many defensive positions with its incredible array of firepower marking it as one of the most devastating of the Second World War era. However, although its own legacy was ruined by poor decision making by its designers it left an incredible legacy for the potential firepower and balance of speed & strength that many aircraft bring to the table today.
The Heinkel He-219
While flight simulation systems tend to try and give us a better grip on the realism of an aircraft at any given time, this representation of the Heinkel really does change the landscape entirely. With so many little extra features included that may have been missed on other builds, this realistic representation of the aircraft that was so famous and set such a precedent has to be tried out to be believed.
It provides the ultimate re-creation of the aircraft of its era and brings to light new features within the flight simulator series that many people never knew were possible. By providing a list of unique features that you can use to make all the difference to your aerial performance and realistic inclusions that make it stand out from the typical inclusions provided by the creators of the series, you can fly one of the top aircraft of the Second World War the way it was supposed to be.
“By the book” installation features and additions provided to make sure that everybody gets the quality of design they were expecting. This was created by using realistic aircraft tests and first-hand accounts from genuine experts of the Heinkel. Additionally, features have been researched with hours of footage and reading, as well as using sample data from actual aircraft tests
A realistic performance provided so that you can get the maximum from your aircraft, providing you with an idea of just how quick the Heinkel was despite its size. A genuine fuel economy has been installed and researched, giving you a “Distance-to-Altitude” performance meter under a variety of power settings
You can even speed up the aircraft by dropping a fuel tank to give you less fuel but less weight so you can fly quicker – what do you prefer? Supplies or speed?
Veteran pilots provided alongside modern versions so you can feel like you are taking to the skies with the actual professionals, rather than in a ghost plane
Every single asset of the plane has been taken into consideration when it comes to the quality of the design. Using the famous Wings of Power He-219 known as the “Owl” everything has been represented right down to the last rivet and bolt, to give you a faithful recreation of one of the most popular planes in the war time era
With high-resolution lighting and textures included, you can notice a marked difference between the aircraft in the game and those included in this pack. By pushing the games features to the very limit, this aircraft represents the most realistic form of aircraft possible within the simulation engine
Props and extras like oxygen flow and tank gauges, as well ejector seats and bulletproof windows are all added in to give you the type of realism that you would expect to see from a WW2 plane. It even has an extendable ladder and a gun sight that can be easily noticed as a reticle when you are flying, so if you want to use those outstanding gun cannons you can!
Every single item available to a Heinkel pilot in real life is afforded to you, so that you get the same control and flexibility that you would from the real thing. With realistic sounds included as well, you are gaining access to one of the closest representations of the Second World War attack aircraft out there on the market
