Using custom aerial color-corrected imaging, the entire airport, including buildings and facilities, and the surrounding terrain, have been replicated with the utmost detail.
Terraforming also allows the natural blending and integration into the default elevation model and, ultimately, a seamless transition into the default simulator landscape.
The taxiway, ground lines, and the stands are all highly detailed and placed in relation to up-to-date maps. Multiple animated objects such as Windturbines, Weatherstation, and Windsocks add a further layer of realism, as do the animated jetways.
There are also many static vehicles, as well as humans and parasols near the terminal which are determined by the time of day and the weather.
The authenticity is further on display with the sloped runway, which will not only give the virtual pilot a further sense of realism but will present unique challenges when taking off and landing.
In fact, when approaching the airport, the virtual pilot will notice that their location is right next to the Atlantic Ocean that further highlights its uniqueness, something that is amplified when flying at dusk or night.
La Palma Airport is a destination that will surely be of interest to virtual pilots of all ranges of experience and capability.
