As one of the larger Terminal Control Areas in the United States, the Pittsburgh within FSX and P3D is nowhere near well enough represented. It lacks the look and class of the real thing, and can be a challenge for people to get used to if they are from the area or know it well otherwise. This package, however, removes this problem completely by working to improve the entire Pittsburgh Terminal Control area. Covering more than 5,000 square miles of space in stunning 50cm/pixel photorealistic scenery, this adds an accuracy and vitality about the area that was sorely lacking in the vanilla simulators.
When using a simulator, it’s always important to have vision and detail at its most realistic – you want to have the most realistic and engrossing experience possible, after all! This scenery collection does just this; enhancing the entire place and making a large section of Pennsylvania look far more polished than it had in the past. With a huge level of detail on each and every page, this manages to provide ultra-resolution depictions of every key landmark and location within the TCA of Pittsburgh. The accuracy within the locations as much as the detail and consistency within the images used adds a whole new layer of realism and enjoyment to the scenery included within Pittsburgh.
It’s a city with a real history and fashion about it, which fits in well with the rest of the state of Pennsylvania. If you wish to use this, you can use it alongside the Pennsylvania state scenery collection which can be viewed from HERE. Putting all of this together makes an incredible difference to the entire package, bringing this level of detail and quality across the entire state. Both packages can be used in conjunction with one another, too, for unerring accuracy throughout.
With 305,000+ residents, Pittsburgh is the second largest city in the state and for that reason it manages to hold a large level of prominence throughout the entire country. It’s been involved in many changes to the US economy, first being a city which specialized in steel – dubbing it the name “The Steel City” and having more than 300 steel businesses – as well as glass, aluminum, petrol, computing, electronics and even food! It’s a city with a thriving industrial heart to it that has since grown and included everything from IT to recreation and sports. By managing to be such a diverse area, the nearby cities and towns – covered in this package – have benefited from the rich history and culture which Pittsburgh has created.
You’ll be able to spot all of the various sectors throughout the region, too with the likes of IBM, Intel and Google all holding massive offices here in the various districts. Add in the massive melting pot that makes up the cities working force, and you will notice all of the various influences and cultures that have developed Pittsburgh into the giant city that it is all captured in the most stunning of detail.
