About Carenado
Carenado is a household name in the flight sim industry. If you're bought flight sim payware add-ons before, you've likely heard of Carenado. Carenado have done an amazing job with this fantastic model of the Mooney M20J; every aspect of this aircraft has been considered throughout its development and the result is something that should truly not be missed. If you're a user of Microsoft Flight Simulator X, you can pick this up right now as an immediate download and be flying it to your hearts content in no time.
The reason that this is such a stand out add-on, is that it has been developed specifically for FSX. When tailoring for release on more than one software, allowances and sacrifices have to be made because each piece of software doesn't necessarily support the same features. So in this instance, Carenado have been able to go all out and use every feature that FSX has to offer.
Carenado put their best foot forward with absolutely stunning texture work that is complimented by good design in the livery department. Using FSX features like dynamic shadows, normal mapping, specular mapping and bloom lights, the visuals reach a whole new level, taking on an almost cinematic quality, with highlights and shadows rolling on and off the body of the aircraft. The textures work very well with finely sculpted model, where care has been taken to make sure that the curves are extremely soft in order to improve the overall quality without causing frame-rate issues.
The low wing design of the Mooney 201 allows for great views from all angles, which is a welcome trait when spending time in the 3D modeled and interactive virtual cockpit. It's from here that some of Carenado's finer details come into play. With subtle reflections on the windows, realistic lighting effects on the custom panel and gauges, dynamic shadows and even animated sun visors, it is so easy to completely immerse yourself in the experience. It's made even easier thanks to custom sounds and near perfect flight dynamics that are as faithful to the real Mooney M20J as can be.
Each individual piece that makes up this M20J are great by themselves, but they come together as a whole to create a truly authentic and compelling aircraft that promotes fun and realistic flight experiences, from one runway to the next.

Any hope of getting this plane in MSFS 2020? I know the Ovation is available, and I do have it, but would love to add this one to my collection.
