Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004
FlightSim Commander is a flight planner, moving map, and navigation tool all rolled into one. It was designed to stand alone, work with single or multiple monitors, or in a network. It is loaded with features that are essential for any flight. Most of these features can be accessed through separate windows when you choose its menu or button. The map window is your main view. Here you will find a geographic map with all your important navigational information.
It includes 12 different airspaces including the control zone and the Korean Buffer Zone. The aircraft that are displayed on the screen come with their call sign, ground speed, and altitude for recognition. You can also see each waypoint on your flight plan with detailed information on arrival time, average ground speed, altitude, fuel consumption; take off time, and your estimated arrival time. You will also see your parking position, the taxiway you are assigned to, the proper gate, and position all displayed in red. You will see an AI traffic screen displaying the call signs, tail numbers, flight levels, and ground speed of other AI aircraft. A handy tool that can be utilized many ways.
The GPS Window shows all important flight information at different stages of your flight. You can use several buttons for navigation such as AutoHeading. This makes you plane follow the flight plan route. Easily flip through five pages on this window. You get a general page, a waypoint page, a weather page, ILS page, and a page that shows crosshair landing assistance for non-ILS runways.
This program includes a special feature that shows if airports or airspaces are being controlled and where. This is the VATSIM and IVAO online flight window. The Flight Planning Window gives you three types of plans. You can use the navaid-to navaid plan, the low altitude plan or the high altitude plan. The panel is pretty self-explanatory so even the most novice pilot can navigate through it. It even lets you set advanced flight plans. The Charts Window lets you sum it all up. It includes features like a logbook, airport information, and runway charts just to name a few.
This amazingly realistic program will help you get from point A to point B just as if you were flying a real plane.
