Now you can explore the FSX scenery at sea level. DeltaSim's FSX Powerboat gives you 3 well-modeled 40-foot powerboats with 10 variants to choose from. Skimming along the water at high speeds, you'll hear the roar of the boat's engine while experiencing a detailed 3-D model of each boat's unique cockpit.

The boats have challenging handling characteristics that are quite different from that of an airplane. Each repaint is designed to contrast neatly with the water and animated crew and passengers provide entertainment at you drive. The racing crews sport full racing suits and crash helmets with reflective visors. The cockpit view includes a realistic 3-D model of the actual buttons, gauges, levers, and lights that are actually found in the powerboats.

Each boat has a unique instrument array that includes fuel gauges, oil temperature and pressure gauges, speedometers, heading and position indicators, and wind speed indicators. There is also a “card lock” system that you must engage before the engine will start. On the tourist models there is a button that will open the sliding roof and a glove box that you can open to view a can of soda.

The interior also includes a main battery switch, four light switches, and a switch to open the engine cover. At night, the lights provide ample vision to navigate the simulated environment. The boats are set with a payload of 4000 lbs with 600 gallons of fuel. You can navigate using a “flight plan” using the onboard GPS. You can also navigate manually.

The ten variants of the three models include: 4 racing powerboats - two Cheetahs, one Mangusta and one Pathfinder; 4 tourist powerboats with sliding roof - two Pathfinders, one Mangusta and one Cheetah; 2 tourist powerboats with “wings” and sliding roof - one Mangusta and one Cheetah.
