Microsoft Flight Simulator X & 2004
German Airports 3 is not a standalone program but you’ll require the original Microsoft Flight Simulator X or 2004 in order to use this great add-on.
This pack does not have any additional hardware requirement compared to the original simulator still it looks fantastic and runs great even on older configurations. With this additional content you will be able to see the airports of Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel, Bremen, Berlin-Tegel, Paderborn/Lippstadt and Lübeck just like in real life. Not only all the airports are modeled to the very realistic details but all the landscape around them.
The details include both animated and static parts of the surroundings to give a lively and close feel. With this add-on you can experience how the buildings are, how the whole airports are structured and in general how they fit into the environment. You also have the chance to observe how the airports operate and in general how the runways are being put into use.
Since German airports are generally well organized and they do handle a significant amount of air traffic which you will be amazed as it is now very visible due to Dynamic Airport Enhancement Services that is part of the package. The dynamic features are more stunning to observe during the nights as the package includes a wonderful set of night effects.
Additional to that not only the day and night changes but the seasonal changes are also included in the package to create a real-life experience. The package comes with a detailed manual that includes airport information so you can get the most out of it.
This add-on is compatible with both Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004 versions. It maintains compatibility with Oliver Pabst’s Airport Enhancement Services (AES) so the airports are really filled up with life. Overall you get a good value and a great experience that can take your simulator to the next level.
Manufacturers Description
German Airports 3 from Aerosoft brings major German airports to your copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator X and 2004. Featuring Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin-Tegel and more, this is a fully featured package. Each airport is crafted with fine attention to detail including static and dynamic objects, ground enhancements and many more great scenery enhancements.
The German Airports Team shows that their reputation is well deserved. As most airports have been undergoing many modifications but this scenery shows the airport exactly as it is at this moment. All buildings, lighting systems, navigation beacons and of course the layout of taxiways and runways have been recreated to perfection.
Like before, a high detailed aerial image is the base for the project and therefore the immediate surroundings of the airport is accurate as well. Another highlight is the use of Dynamic Airport Enhancement Services. This creates a high volume of vehicle traffic on the airport (and beyond) that cannot be created any other way. You will see them follow complex routes and when they take a corner you even see them use the correct lights! Notwithstanding the many details, the scenery will run with excellent frame rates on modern hardware.

Review
"Overall the package is a great value for your money. You get five airports for the price of two. Even better is that all the airports have full AES support, and they use very little credits to activate them. I have previously used the FS2004 version (before these airports were upgraded) and they were great then. I can say that the FSX versions are even better and give you very good frame rates without comprising on details." - Avsim
