You can explore the airspace over five major cities in Germany, rendered in precise detail.

Choose from the airports serving Cologne/Bonn, Hannover, Dortmund, Munster/Osnabruck or Leipzeig/Halle. No expense or effort has been spared by Aerosoft to accurately recreate the airports themselves as well as the immediate surrounding areas they serve. Every detail is here – the layout of the runways and taxiways, hangars, apron and control tower, plus lighting and beacons. If the virtual aircraft you’re using is so equipped, you can connect with the ILS, VOR or ATIS navigation aids as you enter the pattern and get ready to land.

German Airports 2 X is graphically intense, offering 1 meter per pixel resolution. This provides an excellent level of detail while not overtaxing computer system resources. The program has full night features, displaying runway lighting, beacons and detailed buildings as they’re seen both from the air and ground in the night time. During the day the pilot will see every airport as it actually appears today, with construction projects in process, planes on the ground, taxiing, landing and taking off.

The complete manual has instructions on how to use every feature, and the original airport charts are also included to fully realize the experience. Anyone who has yearned to travel European skies needs to have this add on to their Microsoft Flight Simulator.
